Veterinarians

  • Dr. Philip McHugh


    Dr. Phil McHugh is our Hospital Director and is originally from Montclair, NJ.  He received his DVM from NC State and started at Park Veterinary Hospital in 1985.  He and his wife are the proud parents of three children, Kelly, Megan, and Sean.  In addition, they have a dog, Scout, and three cats, Coco, Pepsi, and Sunny.  He especially enjoys doing soft tissue, cancer, and reconstructive surgeries.  He also likes challenging medical cases.

  • Dr. Nan Henderson


    Dr. Nan Henderson is a native of Louisville, KY, and received her DVM at Purdue University.  Upon graduation in 1987, she moved to North Carolina and has been with Park Veterinary Hospital since 1988.  She and her husband Andy have many four-legged children, including (but not limited to) dogs, cats, horses, a goat, sheep, cows, and a donkey.  Dr. Nan and her dogs, Mac, Grits, and Ziti, visit nursing homes and hospitals as a pet therapy team and love doing agility training and hiking.  She enjoys all aspects of veterinary practice and is especially interested in strengthening the bond between pets and their people, as well as geriatrics, chronic cases, and dentistry.

  • Dr. Beth Carroll


    Dr. Beth Carroll received her degree from NC State and has been practicing since 1993. She has a special interest in surgery and endoscopy, and is certified to do Penn HIP evaluations. Dr. Carroll enjoys working with very small animals and is our resident guru for all sorts of “pocket pets,” from rabbits to ferrets to rats. She is also a really big fan of really big dogs, and enjoys teaching children about veterinary medicine at local schools.  Dr. Carroll, her husband, and their two children, David and Elizabeth, share their home with a poodle-mix named Zack.

  • Dr. Laura Stolt


    Dr. Laura Stolt received her DVM at Michigan State University. She, her husband, daughter Bonnie, and sons Bradley and Benjamin, share their home with a mutt named Quincy and two kitties: Ferdinand and Brulee. Dr. Stolt loves small animal medicine and especially enjoys helping owners solve behavior problems.

  • Dr. Maria Lynch


    Dr. Maria Lynch, a graduate of NC State, is a native of Boston.  She and her husband currently have three dogs ... Cinder, a whippet, and Oscar and Petunia, the pugs.  She has recently been trained to use ultrasound to evaluate abdominal organs, and enjoys this new challenge.

  • Dr. Catherine Geyer


    Dr. Catherine Geyer is a graduate of Virginia Tech who joined Park Vet in September of 2005, after moving to North Carolina from San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Geyer, her husband Chris, and their son Nathan and daughter Sarah share their home with two Australian Cattle dogs named Hannah and Jackson, and a Border Collie named Meg.

  • Dr. Lauren Whitley


    Dr. Lauren Whitley is the newest addition to our team. She and her husband, Matthew, are both from the "Barbecue Capital," Lexington, NC. Currently, they have a boxer named Millie. After finishing her undergraduate studies at UNC, she attended NC State to obtain her DVM degree. Dr. Whitley is enrolled in a program to become a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP). She will be introducing a physical rehabilitation program here to benefit dogs (or cats) that are recovering from orthopedic or neurologic surgery and/or have degenerative diseases such as arthritis.Vetsuite_Img_45524

Management

  • Marti Harris , Office Manager


    Marti Harris started out at Park Vet as the Director of Marketing and Communications and quickly advanced to the hospital’s Office Manager.  She is responsible for the general running of the hospital, specifically client relations, billing, hiring of staff, and leading our weekly client service and employee training meetings.  Marti and her husband have three children.  The crew shares their home with two dogs Badger and Fritz, and four cats, Digit, Pollyanna, Dizzy Lizzy, and Duncan Donut-head.

Technicians

  • Anna Nabors, Dina Pekkere


    Our Registered Veterinary Technicians, who each have an Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology, are responsible for assisting with surgeries and dental cleanings, sedation, intubation, monitoring anesthesia, discharging patients after surgery, etc.Vetsuite_Img_45456
